Expansion
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will soon take remand of SP MLA Irfan Solanki from Sisamau seat of Kanpur, who is lodged in Maharajganj jail. After this, Irfan will be made face to face with his close builders Shaukat Ali and Haji Wasi. So that information about business relations between them can be obtained.
According to sources, during the raids conducted at the premises of Irfan and his close associates, documents of various properties which they had jointly purchased were found. Many big projects were started on these lands but due to Irfan going to jail, the project work has been stalled for the last one year. Irfan and his two close builders have also purchased 50 bighas of land on the outskirts of Kanpur. Preliminary investigation of its documents revealed that these lands were purchased at a very low price. ED officials suspect that these lands have been purchased at low prices by intimidating the farmers. At present, the real value of the remaining lands and under-construction projects of Irfan and his close relatives is being ascertained by getting them evaluated by an architect.
Many information received from social media accounts
ED also took the help of social media to crack down on Irfan and his close ones. When their social media accounts were searched, many important information was found. ED officials were not satisfied with the information about the properties given by the Kanpur Police Commissionerate, so they planned to conduct a raid and collect evidence themselves. At the same time, in view of the possibility of protest, a raid was conducted at five in the morning by taking along paramilitary forces.
Will write a letter to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority
The investigation into the allotment of two flats by Mumbai’s Slum Rehabilitation Authority to Irfan’s wife and brother-in-law has also been intensified. ED is preparing to write a letter to the authority asking for the documents which were submitted at the time of purchasing the flat. This will reveal how much income both of them had declared to buy the flat.
